Canadian Residential School Deaths
by Simon inin case you haven't heard, they just discovered the remains of some 215 dead children at a so called canadian residential school.
they couldn't call it a death-camp could they ... it would be too obvious.. these were where indigenous children were taken, forcibly, in order to "educate" them out of their native customs and languages and make them integrate with society.. unbelievably, this was still going on in the 60s to 90s.. of course the catholic church has their sticky fingers all over it.
what is it about those creepy bastards?

I’m surprised they didn’t find more, given the school was operated for more than 100 years. Child death wasn’t all too uncommon back in the day.
The school was funded by the Canadian government, the forced schooling policies from the 1920s caused massive amounts of people to enroll in an unprepared school system, the church ran it but the goal of these social programs was the eradication of indigenous culture at the hands of government.

@zachias: the US has regrown natural forest more than the size of France in the last 30-something years. The problem with government programs from left-wing governments like New Zealand, is that you can't indefinitely plant 2-for-1, you'll run out of room, at which point they will invade other habitats with unhealthy trees (which they are already doing today).
In NZ, the 1B tree program has caused exotic trees threatening naturally regenerating bush through wilding invasion, and invaded tussock (natural long and sturdy grass) landscapes too (the landscapes you see in movies like Lord of the Rings).
Included in the species is radiata pine (the main source/type for cheap NZ wood). This is an ecological degradation that has received insufficient attention for too long. In consequence, much regenerating bush is doomed, because poor, left-wing, tree hugging policy.
Trees aren't the answer to everything, most wood in the west already comes from farmed trees (because they're cheaper to grow, cut and process than natural trees), the expensive wood like cedars that does come from natural sources is only in demand due to the very rich, primarily left-wing, people that want to have the 'natural' look to complement their 'green' buildings. But to political simpletons and left-wing city dwellers, planting cheap, invasive trees is the end-all-be-all. Every building you enter that has that 'green' and 'natural' look, the interior of GreenPeace offices for example, uses expensive, high quality, big energy consumption to cut and process "naturally grown wood" instead of cheap farmed pine or high quality plastics.

God vs ET`s ,why is one more probable than the other ?
by smiddy3 inbillions of people around the world beleive in a god of some sort or other who exerts some power or influence to some degree or other in lifes affairs .. i don`t think there would be anywhere near that figure that would entertain the possability of extra terrestial life elsewhere in the universe.. and i find that curious .. the ancients didn`t know that their were other humans on other continents on this planet until they ventured out and found them .. we live somewhere in the milky way galaxy with millions of suns and planets that orbit them.. our galaxy is only one of trillions if not zillions of galaxys in the known universe.. look at the diversity of life on just this one planet earth ,what possabilitys could exist elsewhere ?
on alien worastronomers can use the hubble space telescope to view galaxies near the edge of the observable universe (the region of space from which light has had a chance to reach us within the last 13.77 billion years).
by examining a very tiny portion of the sky, counting up the number of visible galaxies in the universe in that specific region, and then multiplying that number to account for all the regions of the sky, astronomers estimate the number of galaxies in the universe.

The thing with religion, is that it generally stems from very old stories, before we knew anything about the Universe. So they reflect that for example, there is a moon and an earth and a sun and then some stars, some (about 3) which are special and behave weird.
What do you do with that information, other than, well, we're here, we're special, we must be here for some purpose. Everything around us is special, everything we have, we make, so who made us, must be someone really big and powerful.
It's only been about 50 years that we have a pretty good idea about all the planets in the solar system and their moons. The majority of people alive today could not have learned in elementary school that there are other planets outside our solar system, we had a good idea there may be, but we didn't discover any until 1992. So the idea that ET could exist is very, very new.

British BLM activist has been shot in the head - media bias?
by LoveUniHateExams insadly, british blm activist sasha johnson is critically ill in hospital after being shot in the head.. first, i'd like to wish her a recovery if this is possible.. but i also think this could be a good test case of how the british media report this event.. i think it could be good to explore media bias.. so, we have the right-wing daily mail saying that, according to her friend, sasha johnson was shot in the head due to being in the cross-fire of a gang shooting, and that she wasn't the intended target, neither was she targeted because of her politics.. at the other end of the spectrum, the left-wing guardian is saying that she was shot after receiving death threats, according to her political party that she founded.. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9612115/drive-gunmen-shot-black-panther-oxford-sasha-johnson-head-fired-house-party.html.

@punkofnice: automatic 6 year prison term, 6 weeks in and you're released for good behavior? Or simply just have to show up once a week to the prison because they don't have enough space.
British/European prison is laughable, you get mandatory life in prison for murder, per the UK Ministry of Justice, most murderers released from prison have served between 11 and 18 years
Pedophiles have a 10 year mandatory sentence, 56% of convicted pedophiles can avoid jail time altogether by getting a suspended sentence, the majority get released after 1 year for good behavior. -

What Do You Think of Dr. Fauci?
by minimus inlast year millions of people were singing his praises.
what’s your opinion of him right now?.
-

The links between Fauci and Wuhan are well known and the links to his patents are too big to ignore. If the truth ever gets clarified, he'll be remembered in ~10-20 years like Dr. Mengele is remembered.

Interesting, do some research on HBCD. Per the CDC and others:
2-Hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin (HBCD) is a compound that helps maintain the vaccine’s active ingredients in a stabilized liquid form that is used for the injection. HBCD contains glucose and starch.
Note HBCD is incorrect, HBCD is a flame retardant.
Per NIH:
Hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin (HPβCD) is a complexation agent used to enhance drug solubilization and formulation stability. Although its toxicity is well characterized, its cardiovascular effects are less known. It then goes on to cite studies where HPβCD is linked to renal and heart failure in dogs administered it.
Note: I am not an anti-vaxxer, I am pro-vaccine, but I do think the risks should be weighed against the benefits. The risk of a healthy young (<21) person dying from COVID is smaller than them getting hit by lightning. The risk of a healthy young person having complication currently stands slightly less than killed in a car accident.

Did Jesus lie about his generation?
by Anony Mous inwe all know the scripture where jesus says 'this generation will by no means pass away before the end will come'.
the jw interpret this as the destruction of the jewish state in jerusalem by the romans and the dispersal of the jewish people.
however, while researching the history of judea, i come across various facts about the region.. so jesus died about 30ce and his disciples were likewise well in their thirties or older, the 'generation' by definition would've lasted until ~50ce (the time during which children are born and raised to have children of their own).
-
Anony Mous
@BluesBrother: He said "this generation" - the original Jewish interpretation for generation was a timespan of 40 years (which is a pattern you can find repeatedly in the Bible). The first time the Romans came in 73CE, that time had just lapsed.
In Mark Jesus predicts that "not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down" - that didn't happen at all in 73CE, yes they destroyed parts of the temple but according to archeology left it otherwise functional for another nearly 70 years to let the Jews worship, at which a more complete destruction was performed, excluding some of the major components which would've been infeasible in their time to destroy without wasting a ton of time and resources.
Matter of fact, you can still find several "stone left on another" to date as the ancient walls of the Herodian temple still exist.

Black Lives Matter Flags To Fly Worldwide In US Embassies
by minimus in….for the anniversary of george floyd’s death per president biden.
smh .

@John.prestor: George Floyd overdosed, he wasn't murdered. He died because he had too much fentanyl in his body, he was put under arrest for passing a fake $20 and then put under physical restraint because he was resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer. That is a chain of events of criminal behavior only George Floyd himself is responsible for.
The fact a jury was threatened to come to a certain conclusion or else they'd be killed, does not make for a fair trial.

Hamburg Court Decision

I think the German court went a bit too far here, they've basically decided to take what the JW's say at face value:
Here are the things that the court found false:
“there is a difference between men and women who receive the heavenly calling from God, in that only women ‘must receive a change of nature,’ but not men,” - this is well documented, especially in the older WT literature, but that's basically a matter of interpretation, not something a court can rule on.
that women who serve as door-to-door missionaries are “women slaves,” - again, matter of interpretation, but yes, they call themselves 'slaves' and they are for all intents and purposes "slaves" to the WTBTS and the men in the organization.
and children are “compelled” to participate in the public preaching - as a child I was always compelled to participate
that women in the family should not only submit to their husbands but also “to their male children,” - again, factually correct, male baptized children are above their mothers in matters of faith
“forbidden to divorce without being immediately excommunicated,” - again, true in many cases
“cannot rebel within the home without being immediately judged by the congregation’s elders.” - again, true in many cases
That Jehovah’s Witnesses teenagers caught kissing are automatically “taken to a JW’s judicial committee,” - again, true in many cases
and that a young woman who stays overnight in the home of a male friend would be found guilty by a judicial committee even in the absence of other elements indicating an improper relationship - again, that is well documented and an example in the elder's manual.
Basically what the WTBTS pulled is the same they pull everywhere: our organization does not tell our members how to behave, they are all free to do whatever they please, but if they behave in the way we tell them, that's fine too. Which makes every statement about WTBTS false/defamatory because they can just say "our legal organization does not believe those things, look, our legal charter says we are simply the printers of bibles and bible literature, we don't even organize congregations. Whatever the individuals of the Governing Body do is ecclesiastical and the court has no legal standing opining on matters of faith". This is the reason they separated the legal organization from the Governing Body years ago.
What is really scary is that European courts are now ruling on matters and interpretation of faith and siding with the JW on who has the right interpretation. According to the ruling, this website is now defamatory and can be blocked by German authorities - chilling indeed.
